The most basic way to number pages

How to Number Pages in Word from Any Page
With this method, you can number the page from any page without necessarily the first page. To perform this numbering, proceed as follows:
Step 1: Move the mouse over the page to be numbered.
2nd step: Find the Layout tab, then click the Breaks box. When you click Break a drop down menu, click Next Page as shown in Figure 2. This will divide the document into 2 parts. If you want to number the page from 1 or any page, just point your mouse over the next document.

Step 3: Go back to the Insert tab and select Page Numbers, now click the Format Page Numbers box. When the dialog box appears, move your mouse over the Start at item on Page Number Format. Here you choose any number you want for the start page like figure 3. After selecting the value, just press OK to confirm.

Step 4: Continue with the Insert tab and now you select the Page Number item and then select the type of bookmark you want similar to method 1 as shown in Figure 4. Note that at this step you need to disable the Bold Link to Previous item on the menu bar to separate the two numbered sections of text, and removing the numbering in any part of the text will not affect the rest of the document.

Step 5: Finally, close the Close Header and Footer toolbar tab to finish typing your document.
How to number pages from a number greater than 1
If for some reason you don’t want to type the document from page 1 but want a number like page 5 or page 6, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the Insert tab and then to the Page Number Format section in the Page Number section as shown in Figure 5.

2nd step: When the Page Number Format section appears, navigate to the Start at box and enter the page number to start. For example, you enter the number 6 as shown in Figure 6 below.

Step 3: Click OK and the system will save and return the results to you, as shown in Figure 7.

How to change roman numeral style or a, b, c characters for documents
